PERFORMANCE RUGBY IN AN ACADEMIC ENVIRONMENT

Welcome to the official website of Durham University Rugby Football Club. Founded in 1875, the Palatinates have been at the pinnacle of university rugby ever since and have produced countless international players including the likes of Will Greenwood and Will Carling.

This website will allow you to keep up to date with everything related to DURFC including team selections, results and alumni news.

DURFC fields five men's teams playing every wednesday in various BUCS leagues. Our 1st XV compete in the BUCS Super Rugby competition and are defending champions facing teams such as Exeter and Hartpury, our 2nd XV compete in BUCS Northern Premier A against the likes of the Newcastle and Nottingham Trent 1st XV’s.

APPLYING TO DURHAM FOR SEPTEMBER 2024

We would be delighted to hear from students who may be keen to come to Durham and happy to provide 1-1 meetings (Zoom / Telephone) regarding the rugby programme and personalised visits and scholarship advice.

Here it is worth noting that we have monitoring systems in place which enable us to support UCAS applications from top class rugby players who also meet the demanding entry requirements of the University – so the earlier we know of student interest the earlier we can help them
